slow hesitating start up

Hello everybody I'm new to this site and to the Mazda 3.I completed my first oil change on my Mazda lastweek and I was disapointed in myself due to it took me 30 min to find the oil drain plug.this was a first for me to ever have a problem in this procedure.my question is that my Mazda only has 52,142 miles and when I start her up she seems like she hesitates and slowly reaches the normal idling r.p.m's and I can tell that the gas mileag has decreased.considering the low mileage is tthis problem occurring because It's time for new sparkplugs or i need to replace the wires?

um, if you took so long to find the drain plug... make sure you didn't drain the trans fluid by mistake and then double the oil. The oil plug is visible and accessable without taking that plastic under engine cover off the car. The trans is on the drivers side and has a plug that's only accessable after taking off the plastic under engine cover off.

There should be no need for wires, since the car uses an on-plug spark coil. If you spilled oil, it could have gotten down next to one of the plugs and causing a partial short which could make it run rough.
Hm, not sure what else it could be that would link to the oil being changed.... did you do anything else when poking around the engine bay?
I hope if the check engine light was on that you'd have mentioned that.
And what sort of decrease in mileage?

changing the oil

After I found the oil plug I had now problems I'm just more familiar with older cars from the eighties lol.I didn't bother or touched anything else that could interrupt with proformance.I'm going to replace the plugs and wires and I'm sure she'll run better.thanks for your replay she2571.
