Radio/Clock/temp display dead

Hey,

Mazda 3 Sport 2006, 8000km. The display panel died yesterday. Gone. All radio functions still work (but you can't see what you're doing!).
Googled the problem and found another guy with the same problem, 2006 as well.
Anyone has heard of that problem? Will be on warranty, but it's a pain...

Check all the fuses in the panel behind the glove compartment. I believe the "room fuse" or something like that can cause that problem if it blows.

Will take a look. Tks.

Well, they "re-booted" the display by unplug-plug the battery...
Feels like a short term solution and not a fix but we'll see.
Makes me wonder what implications a bug would have in a car that's "fly by wire"...

Started the car at lunch today and my display was fried. It flashing all of the icons over and over. Mine's an 06 also, Just called the dealer said they've never heard of it. May try to fix it myself...

mine had that problem. Take it to the dealer and they will have to order the head unit, so you may want to call first and see if they will order it for you than it is about an hour to do all the work. It took my dealer about a week to get it in. Pain in the ass. Mine actually ended up fixing itself but I wouldn't recommend holding your breath for that.

interesting. I called the dealer, they had never heard of this happening with other 3's. So we disconnected the battery and when we tried it again it was fine... I wonder if it will fry again. If so, then I'll definitely look into the head unit. thank god for warranties
