Opinions needed

Hello forums folks. Need some advice. I have a 2004 Mazda3 s HB manual that I bought new and it needs some lovin' at 110K. It has some minor quirks but nothing that would not make me drive it across country tomorrow. Looking to do some preventative maintenance in some areas. Just wondering where to start. Couple of question...

1. Shocks and other suspension rubber. Things are starting to get squeaky. What and when to replace? I live in South Florida if that helps.

2. What major repairs to expect at this age? My last major was A/C compressor at 94K. Looking at front window regulators next.

3. High mileage care suggestions?

4. What controls the dashlights to dim and backlights to come on when one turns on the headlights? Thinking some thing is loose as the dash will not go dim, then will and sometimes back to full while driving.

Hoping to keep this car for as long as I can. It is not my DD, but I can't give it up just yet.

Other quirks...
1. Clearcoat going and gone.
2. Groaning steering.
3. Squeaky clutch pedal.
4. Bulb out behind air control knob.

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Be careful. At about the same mileage I started investing in my Jeep: shocks, struts, tires, battery, etc. Then the transmission went out. I would have more confidence in a Mazda than a Jeep, but it would be wise to invest carefully. Will you be doing the work in your own?

Probably not doing the work myself. It is a 5-speed manual if that makes a difference. Still running well as of today!

When you're paying labor to a shop, the costs can add up in a hurry. I'd suggest making a list of the things you want done and get some estimates. Then you can make better decisions.
