Oil Weight
The 2.3 in the 3 calls for a light 5w-20 oil. This is a light oil, and from my understanding this is to aid in economy. Would it cause any problems to go with a little heavier oil in order to provide more protection. I am also thinking about running Castrol Syntec oil instead of normal oil. Any thoughts

do NOT increase the viscosity of the oil unless you are switching to a thicker oil to plug up leaks or soft seals.
Modern engines are made to extremely tight tolerances. Heavier oils will stretch those tolerances and loosen up the engine possibly shortening engine life and performance. If you would like a better engine oil I'd recommend one of the 3 (your choice): Mobil 1 full synthetic 5-20 Redline 5-20 Royal Purple 5-20 A FULL synthetic oil is your best bet for extended life and better heat control. Full synthetics will not burn up. They will turn to an ash and be re-absorbed the next time oil runs over it. They also have better detergents and anti-foaming agents. |
I used (and planning to use in future) Mobil1 5-20 fully synthetic. :scatter:

Roddimus Prime. thanks for the important info reguarding weight. Makes sense once you see it in that light. I think I will go with the mobil 1
