'06 2 GT can't program key fob?

'06 2 GT can't program key fob?
Hey guys,
I'm new to the forums so any help is much appreciated!
I recently bought an 06 3 GT. It didn't come with key fobs (just two blank generic keys) so I bought two on eBay, one with FCC ID KPU41846 and the other is KPU41794. Neither fob works but the 41846 fob does make the car respond with a lock/unlock cycle when you push a button on it during programming. However, when I take the key out, shut the door, and try and use the fob the car doesn't respond at all.
In addition, the car will sometimes not allow me to enter programming mode, when I open the door and hit the lock button (first couple steps of programming), the car automatically unlocks itself and then it never cycles the locks to let you know you have successfully entered programming mode.
Any ideas?
