Need help on installing trunk LED emblem
 

Got it on eBay. Wondering how to install it properly so that when I turn on headlights it automatically lights up. Retailer suggests to install it with license plate light which for mazda3 it is impossible. Any help will be appreciated. (3rd brake light and reverse light do not light up when I turn on the headlights)

Do the taillights not turn on when the headlights are activated? Although if you hooked it up to the taillights the emblem would light up whenever you apply pressure to the brakes. That's not bad in my opinion, however. I don't think it would be impossible to hook it up to your license plate light, you would just need more cable to route it through the trunk and maybe even drill a small hole too. Ooh you could have it hooked up to the blinker and it would flash every time you have the blinker switched on, that's pretty cool.

Haha might be a good idea, Although, there's nothing wrong with working on your own car. It's gives a feeling of fulfillment.

You won't mess anything up, as long as you keep track of everything so you can always go back to the stock arrangement. Just be careful when drilling holes in metal, and of course be cautious around electricity.
