Hi everyone

U see i got the Navigation system along with my Mazda 3s. I really enjoy it, but it doesnt play DVD !!!! "its illegal to play dvd while driving". Such a bullshit, i want to watch it while i park in a nice area and watch a dvd. I was wondering anyone know how to crack that system so you can play dvd.

I've heard of this not being able due to the fact that dvd movies require Mpeg4 codec to veiw video, the dvd vav stuff is just typical computer stuff....sorry I don't know the technical info but thats what it is....you could always remove the factory audio and just use the video input for the dvd as a monitor for your add-on dvd player.

What is the instruction to do that???

Do i have to purchace anything to watch dvds? like extra adapters?

I'm going to leave this up to an audio mod....

I would be extremely interested to hear what an audio mod has to say about this. Does anyone know if the feed to the video screen for the GPS actually has a standard RCA plug coming out of the back of the dvd reader? If it did - adding on would be a cakewalk!

splicing on a RCA connector isn't difficult at all. It's figuring out which wires in the harness are your video signals and ground. It's only 2 wires...a signal and a ground. Just follow the line to the screen and splice in there. Use a voltmeter to determine the ground and the other is your video.
