Mew 3 for MY 2009?
 

Is there going to be a new Mazda3 for 2009?? If so when do the discounts happen.. I am getting rid of my G6 for a 3 and was wondering when I should do it. I am out of the lease in June of 08. But am willing to do it between January and June.. any help woud be awesome. thanks

I haven't heard anything about a new model, which is sorta surprising since the 3 came out in 2004. I know there's all sorts of info about the 2009 Mazda6 floating around, so if there was going to be a new Mazda3 we'd probably know about it.

probably a redesigned mazda3 for 2010.

the '09s have body coloured door frames (instead of black), dual exhaust, a 2.0L or 2.5L engine (instead of the 2.3L) which will produce around 180 or 190 hp

also, the new Mazda3 is built atop the next-generation Ford Focus C1 platform

so there will be a new 09 model? or will it be another update?

its only been redesigned.... again.

there will be a MAJOR facelift/redesign for the 2010 model (most likely)

I thought the 3 was already on the C1 platform. Weren't the 3 and S40 the first cars on the platform?

Plus.. those spy photos of the "2009 Mazda3" are a test mule. I highly doubt they'll do body coloured door trim around the windows, as it just looks downright SILLY. Link to pics of development mule: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...cleId=122903#4

Take a look at even your ride Kansei and notice the pillars are just covered in basically a black tape which when peeled off shows that the pillars are already body color matched. I doubt too that they will release the new 2009 like that but it will be painted the same color under the "tape".

Not black tape on my car, mine are PAINTED black. 2002.5 ftw!!

but yes I know what you're talking about, I've seen some 2003 and 2003.5 Proteges and it's just silly tape.

The problem is, for a car to have body-coloured painted trim around the windows, it has to be designed with that in mind. It looks silly as hell on the Protege5 because of course the hatch windows on the side and rear do just have black trim..

And looking at the spy shots of the 3, yeah it has windows that are like that too. it looks horrible with the body-coloured trim.

plus it just looks awesome when you have black trim there and tint the windows.

Instead of noticing that there are 4 piece of glass on each side of my car, it just kinda looks like one black area :)
