Mazda3S MPG

Just wanted to know what MPG you guys are gettin

BigCT January-30th-2006 01:02 PM

I've got an Auto and mine sucks. Gas Mileage is my only complaint with the car.

I average 21-23 mixed highway and city. To compare, my dad gets 19-22 with a '05 V8 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

i'm getting about 26 in town and about 30 at 70mph on the freeway. '06 s gt 5 door, 5 speed mtx.

The best I've got so far is ~26 mostly highway @ ~75-80mph :cool:

Mostly between 21 and 23; 25 if I'm lucky (and do more highway miles than usual). 5-speed manual 06 Sport GS.

I have a 2005 M3s Hatchback. Last 3 fillups;

19mpg
22mpg
20mpg

crap

All Mazdas seem to get worse gas mileage than their class counterparts. It'sthe price you pay for more low-end torque. Also one of the reasons I bought my car. It's nice to pass at cruising speed without having to downshift, even uphill.

Well its not as bad as the 06 Chevy Colbolt LS that im driving 4 a while

I had a Winning Blue 3s 5 door awhile ago as a rental, I drove it from St Louis to New York City and back ... it got well over 30 mpg for the trip, 32-33mpg average for the 2000+ miles. I really like that car :) Handled good, decent power, good stereo, good ride ... I bought a Tribute afterward, but seriously thought about getting a 5 door.

5 speed with 2.3 and am getting roughly 28-30 combined driving, how hard are you guys driving or what rpm are you shifting at, a lot of yours seem to be a bit low. You guys must be beating on Sentra's and Corolla's all day.

Tracker February-7th-2006 11:59 AM

i drive, race and drift pratically everyday giving my car a good workover while its still stock... not the best idea but i live in Maryland, and about 6000 ish miles, yet i still get around 29-32 mpg.

edge_GT February-7th-2006 01:26 PM

I've got the canadian version of the S (3gt, auto) and I'm getting crappy MPG's.
I'm getting 18 mpg on average, but, my dealer says it's because I drive so little distances that I get all cold starts when the engine is running rich. I drive mostly in the city and my commute to work is only 2 miles. I have 6k miles on it. So, is my dealer correct in his reasoning? And does anyone else have these same driving conditions that are getting better MPG than me?

scotslad469 February-7th-2006 02:58 PM

In the UK i have Mazda 3 Sport 5 door 2.0L and thats the only complaint i have about the car around 27 if im lucky round about town drops maybe to 23, 24

ivo February-7th-2006 06:54 PM

I drove just over 300 miles on one tank when the light came on.
Out of ~310miles ~210 were highway with speed 75-80mph
MPG ==> ~27
:wtf:
