Mazda3 oil change/ tranny fluid question

my g/f has a 07 mazda 3 and i changed the oil and after i changed the oil and when she drove off, the car wouldnt move as if it was in neutral. we checked the oil, which was fine, and the tranny fluid was bone dry. I couldnt locate the tranny fluid bolt to release the tranny fluid.

So where would that be, and why would that be the case??

I'd bring it to the dealer and have them figure it out/fix the problem. That's why you have wty.

yea thats what we're doing, but I figure i'd try to find out if i somehow messed up(which i doubt) or if she was just driving around all this time with no tranny fluid.

So we dropped the car off at 10am, they said it was too late for them to even look at it today, so we have to wait til tomorrow... they said if i messed up no warranty...but i dont see how i could have messed up...

I changed oil, after that the tranny wouldnt go into gear, we checked tranny fluid..and nothing. checked to see if i drained tranny fluid, but if that was the case, the when i took off the plug again, there would be nothing coming out, instead oil drained out.... so ya got me... i better not be paying $500 for this crap....

anyone else have this kind of problem?

Seems to me if you drove it before you changed the oil and it was fine. I find it hard to believe you didnt accidently drain it. If you had trouble after the oil change and not before. My $.02

(I wouldnt tell the dealer you changed the oil then had tranny trouble.)

yea i know, but i couldnt have drained the tranny fluid, because after we saw that there was no tranny fluid, i opened the plug that i drained, and it was clearly oil coming out....which means it was oil the first time...unless the oil and tranny fluid come out the same drain...which just wouldnt make sense ya know...

I did tell them though, because honestly i think she was driving it like that already.... and it may help solve the prob....

I agree with some other posts to take it to the dealer for sure!

just an update to what happened(dont know why i didnt get to this sooner)...

They were 100% it was my fault that the tranny what acting up...but when i picked the car up they said everything was fine...they didnt do anything and there was no charge...and they gave us a curtiousy oil change(which really pissed me off bcause i bought some $30 oil) when i checked the car, it was 100 % full with tranny fluid, and the car ran fine. i told the guy they must have done something and he assured me they only did the inspection, and the oil change.... which means they 100% lied.

the car runs fine and no tranny fluid leaks so im guessing my gf drove it like this for a while and started acting up conviently after the oil change(or maybe a lil before with minor signs).

so yea this dealer is full of shiznit!
