Mazda 3 Sharkfin Antenna
 

I was looking in to replacing that horrendous antenna on the Mazda 3 with a sharkfin antenna. However, does anyone know if there would be signal loss or any negatives to replacing the antenna.
Also, is it very hard?

i purchased 1 for my friend's mazdaspeed3 from therpmstore.com

the ordering was easy enough, custom painted to match the body color which is nice. my friend however, is lazy and hasnt bothered to install it.

it is recommended to wash the car thoroughly first. the old antenna comes off, the new one screws in and the fin is secured with double sided tape. the install instructions on the website are very thorough.

from what i hear from other owners, reception is not affected, and some say your mileage will vary.

another alternative is the short antenna from a mazda cx-7. screws right in and again your mileage will vary.

My buddy has a mazda3s GT and bought one about a year back and fully installed id go with therpmstore.com cause depending on where you are rush order is like 3 dollars more but no signal loss or anything. He couldnt tell the difference im purchasing one for my 08 mazda gt hatch. The Antenna's on the 3's make them look like R/C cars the fin looks nice and continues the nice mazda 3 flow of the body
