I want HID's and i dont know where to start

hey i have been wanting HID's and also angel eyes for my 2008 mazda3. i was wondering if anyone had any places for me to shop. and also how hard is it to set the angel eyes up and is it worth the risk of breaking apart the seal of the headlight to put angel eyes in?

please get back to me, i need ideas!!!

thanks!

Get a headlight system from a junkyard that is the HID lamps and all for the car. Though double check the connectors that are available, but there should be some common connector for powering the lights in general.
I wouldn't crack the lights apart, though I don't see why you couldn't silicone them back shut... just don't think they would ever look right after that.
the high beam is rubber supported, and you may be able to disassemble that portion of the headlight to get angel eyes in there.

so you are saying just get a back-up headlight assembly and do work to that incase i mess up? i guess they would sell them cheap in the junkyard. i was also thinking about tinting them too so it would be a good idea..... and taking the headlight apart i just dont want to mess siliconing it back together and then get condensation in them. plus i dont really know how to do it.

There are rework kits for HID in a lot of places, I don't know what is good / bad for the sites. Though they are NOT A DROP IN REPLACEMENT or upgrade for stock lamps. The shape of the beam will be different since the light source is a different size (HID arc vs. halogen/krypton etc... filament)

And yes, it's in case you mess up - then you don't have a one eyed vehicle. I've got an 07 GT with stock HID lamps, so you should be able to find one off a wrecked vehicle to do some testing. With that it could be one from a halogen vehicle, you can get an HID conversion kit and see what the beam pattern looks like.
Concerning testing, find one that is already cracked or something - since it's useless you can test any disassembly techniques, and maybe even the beam pattern or the look of angel eyes.

Good luck.
