Hot Airconditioner? What's wrong with my 2006 Mazda3S?

I'm a 2nd owner of MAZDA3 (2006, 2.3l, S, Auto).
I'm very satisfied with it except A/C.
It blowing hot air!

I tried with both Auto Climate Control & Manual A/C.
Confirmed that AC light on.

I couldn't hear ticking sound of relay, but I think that it's normal to other vehicles nowaday.

There's very little sound other than engine while A/C is on.
Is it compressor?

.

Update:
After a certain time passed from start Mazda, A/C started to work (cold air blown... but occasionally).
While it works, I can hear ticking of relay whenever I turn on/off A/C.

It might be some electrical problem.

2006 Mazda 3 Hot AC

Hey,

Mazda 3 2006 2.3L

I have had the same issue for a couple of days now, blowing hot air... did you find what was wrong with it??

bsteimel May-24th-2012 03:16 PM

Your AC blowing hot air is usually limited to 2 problems.

1. you are low on refrigerant . This could be caused by a leak. I would take it to a shop and have them check your refrigerant pressure

2. Your compressor is not working right. Lets just hope it's number 1.

If you have hot blowing on 1 side but not the other it could number 1 again.
It could also be a problem with a HVAC door in the housing.

I would have a shop check your refrigerant level and compression

I am taking it to the shop on monday... hope its just a leak or low on refrigerant...

thanks for the reply

any luck? What was the final problem?

eagledaddy May-30th-2012 01:11 PM

It was because of bad relay.
Changed and cool.

oh I'll remember that, that's an easy fix and easy check. Glad it wasn't a leak or a problem with the compressor.

Guys, I am having the same issue with 2006 Mazda3, can you be more specific on the relay location? Are we talking about the compressor relay?

Appreciate your help.

Thanks, luiso16

i'm suprised it's the relay too - BTW, the relay is under the hood next to the battery. The AC one is the same size as things like the horn - so swap a couple of the relays that are the same size / part number and see if that fixes it.
