i have a mazda3 2006 1.6L and the problem is that when its on D the gear jumps direct to 3rd gear and my brother says that it caused the car to overheat..well he took it to the shop and the shop said that needs to replace the ecu and wants to charge like $2200 for it..any thoughts if this can fix the problem?and if so anyone from the philippines know where there are shops that sell used ecu?or where they rebuild one?im not so sure if it would fix the problem 100% thanx mazda family any insight appreciated :dunno:

First thing to do is change the trans fluid. There could be a sensor or some other issue, but after 7 years in use the trans fluid could be dirty enough to cause shifting problems. It's a cheap fix too.

i have a 2006 mazda 3, i have a problem encountered only today. just came from work, when i turn off the engine and close all the window and pull out the key the alarm sounds wild. i try to take the plug of the battery out and put it back, the alarm was still there. is there any option to take it off? any help would be appreciated, thanks...
