Heater - Slow to start after car is turned on.

I have a 2004 Mazda 3, 2.3, 5sp MTX.

A few months ago the Heater/AC began acting up.

When I first start the car, the fan doesn't work. Then after driving for several minutes, the fan starts and everything works fine.

A few pieces of info.

1) the problem occurs regardless of any settings. manual or auto, heat or AC, any fan speed or air flow (floor, defrost..)

2) The time it takes to start can vary from 30 seconds to 20 minutes)

3) Nothing seems to trigger the fan starting

4) all the displays for the Heat/AC controls look normal

5) Once the fan starts, everything works fine and it never stops once it is on.

Any thoughts?? It's cold in Chicago!

your going to have to look under the dash unplug the battery and remove the fuse panle find the blower motor and test for voltage sould be close to battery voltage if so move fan selector and cheak to see if it changes . If volts ok need blower motor try taping dirctly on the motor when its cold to mack it run
