225/45/17s on a 3

Just wondering if anyone is running 225/45/17 on a 3. I called the dealer and the guy I talked to said they "should" fit but that MAZDA doesnt recommend anything other then a 205/50/17.

Wuzzy,, My '04' M3 HB came with 215/45/17's when I purchased it apprx 3 monsths ago. No problems. The 225's evidently are a sit wider, but I still have room with the 215's. This is my 1st experience with large rimmed low-profile tires, and I have to admit I was a bit shocked when I went and priced thier replacements. They're almost twice the price of the tires I run on my T-100, and I buy a top rated Michlien tire for it. (we use it to pull a 20ft 5th wheel). JeffD

I need snow tires BAD. The 205/50/17 snows are going to run me MY COST $160 a piece but I cant find any in the company I work for. The 225/45/17 will run my $95 a piece and they are about 36 of them in my warehouse alone.
