Found this while changing my oil....?
 

Hey guys I was doing an oil change on my wifes 2006 Mazda 3s and noticed noticed that there was fluid briefly leaking from this hole and i'm unsure what the hole is for and what fluid it could be that leaked. Whatever it is it did not leak for long since there was nothing on my garage floor. I will try to best describe the pictures. The pictures were taken from underneath looking towards the front of the car. On the right you can see the oil drain plug and on the left you can see where the fluid leak was. The bent bar is whats left of the support for the plastic shield. The edges of the hole lead me to believe it was not a puncture and is supposed to be there. Thoughts??

A little while back, a guy posted the same type of pictures and it ended up being an engine seal that had to be replaced. Yes, the hole is supposed to be there too.
