Foot rest

I've had my 3 for about a month now and I can see a possible problem in my future. I'm always resting my left foot on the area to the left of the brake pedal (automatic transmission) and I imagine it's just a matter of time before my shoe wears a hole in the carpet there.

I've looked all over for some sort of aftermarket rubber foot rest but am coming up empty. Has anyone found some sort of easy to install foot rest I could stick in there to protect my floor?

What? Mazda took the dead pedal away when they engineered the 3?

Oh is that what they call the left foot rest?
Anyhow - I just use a generic black heavy mud/dirt catching floor mat - never had a problem with that wearing out.

My camaro had like a black plastic rest. It almost looked like a little box, but it was slanted just right so when I rested my foot on there it felt fine. You can get a plastic piece and mount it where you foot goes. I have a problem with pushing my door open with my foot and I am eventually going to ruin that speaker right on the door. I have bent the speaker cage already. Feet...such a problem!

Look on Ebay under Mazda3 or is it Mazda 3. One you get about 250 things and the other you get 900 things. It is a single piece that you screw in with 5 or 6 screws. That is what I was going to go with.

go to a junk yard, look at any civics and take their dead pedal. It fits with slight modification. All you need are some 1/4 inch screws to screw into the carpet.
