DAMN expensive tires
So I have 725 miles on my 06 3 5 door, and the other day I am cruising down the interstate and notice a wierd noise and feel to the car. I pull over and the rear right tire is flat. After closer inspection I realize that the tire is shot due to the sidewall being thinned out to a piece of paper. In the short time it took me to realize I had a flat the sidewall disintigrated. After removal and closer inspection, I found a small hole from a nail, or screw that did the tire in. Now the tire is no good and I am forking over 198 bucks to replace the Goodyear RS-A. I love the way the car drives and rides but for a ~16000 car what are they doing putting 800 bucks worth of rubber on it? Now after reading reviews on tire rack there are much better performing tires for about 100-125. Of course with so few miles I want to keep all the same but never again will I buy a fucking goodyear again. Oh the warrenty does not cover roadhazards. https://www.mazda3club.com/newthread...ewthread&f=98#

Yeah, GoodYear RS-A is a crappy overpriced tire. It spins like crazy when wet and I hate it :fu: GoodYear

Then who you would you suggest then?
|
Not sure what you are asking there.

What tire brand is the worth your money
|
Yes, Goodyears are overpriced for what you get, for sure....unless you REALLY want the name, you're better off on a different brand of tire, IMO.
BFG KDW2. I'm on my 2nd set, and I'm lovin' them. Great dry weather tire, insane wet weather traction...the best tires I've been on in the rain. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/longer_names.jsp Also, check out the "Similar threads" at the bottom of this page. ;) |
i have bridgestone pole position s03's on my 18's and those run for $215 per tire. plus mounting and warranty shizzle it comes out to around $1200 for all 4. but i really like those tires and they perform very well!

i would be willing to buy just about any other brand of tire. The thing is you are definitely paying for the Goodyear name and there are many other brands out there that will perform BETTER and cost much less. Take a look at the reviews at tirerack.com. They will bring up many other options for us other then the RS-A. Once you see where the RS-A rates in testing and other peoples reviews, the only logical choice is to NOT buy that tire.

Yes most Goodyear tires suck, but I have the F1 GS-D3's and I love em. They're not the best in the dry weather (my old Yoko Parada's were much better actually) but when the road is wet there is no better tire ever. These tires literally grip better in the wet than they do in the dry. I know this probably isn't the right tire for you, but I just didn't want good years name completely trashed, lol. They're not that expensive either, I paid $120 per tire for my 215/45/17s.
I agree with Natey on this one, These tires freaking rock http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....ce+T%2FA+KDW+2. I was just browsing Tire Rack and came up with these http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....el=Exclaim+UHP I've never heard of them before, but the price vs. ratings looks amazing, might be worht checking them out. I've heard many people say that these http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Sizes....model=ECSTA+MX are the best street tires you can buy. |
