Console Lights
I searched for an answer, but didn't find what I was looking for.
I have a 2008 Mazda 3 sedan and the dash light behind the temperature selector dial has gone out. Not a big deal, but it will eventually drive me crazy. While I had the car in for service this morning, I asked them to give me a quote on replacing that bulb. $201 seems a bit steep, but if there's a lot to getting to the bulb, it's probably not too far off. Question is, how hard is it to get to that bulb? Is it something I (or my husband, who has replaced car stereos before) could do? For $200, I'll learn to live it with! |
I just replaced that bulb on my 2006, and it took quite a bit of work. The parts alone are only around $30 from the dealership. The entire center console had to come out before you can remove the temperature panel on the dash. I found a step by step on removing all the necessary parts by searching "short shifter installation on a Mazda 3". I have a manual trans as well, that might make a difference too. Either way, if you have experience taking apart dash boards it shouldn't be that much of a hassle.
