Concerned about wide hips and seat wear
My boyfriend just bought a Mazda3 with the narrow seats and high bolsters. They fit him perfectly but they are too narrow for my wide hips and I end up sitting on the bolsters. I am concerned that I am going to wear the foam in the bolsters down over time and I would rather not do that. Had anyone tried adding a narrow cushion to rise a person with wide hips enough to not wear down the bolsters? Or is this just something we'll have to deal with?
Thanks! |
Those seats are pretty infamous for being uncomfortable. Weird because the car that the 3 replaced, the Protege has great seats.
Anyway, maybe a "foamectomy" would work for you guys? If not your pad idea sounds pretty good. Check these out. Made for wheelchairs, but more than one 3 driver has bought one. The 1" think one seems to be what people buy. Pilot? Cushion - Wheelchair Cushions - Home Medical Equipment Action Products - Pressure Relief - Operating Room, Home Medical Equipment - Pressure Ulcer Prevention A lot of the Miata crew do this. The MX-5 seats are really narrow too. Just take some meat out of the bolsters. Good luck! |
Are you talking about the new Mazda 3 OP?
