if your car is manual then the aem cold air intake will do best, the weapon r sucks dont do it, and if your car is automatic then your only option is the injen cold air intake or wait till january for the realease of the aem cold air intake automatic version

weapon r ---- 5 to 10 hp like 7
aem ----- 10 to 15 hp like 12
injen -----8 to 15 hp like 10

but remenber that aem is not out on automaticsyet

I know that K&N has one on the market too.

Nope.....

Wait a month or two and see the dyno runs and then decide.

AFAIK, there are 6 different ones out there.....

(AEM, Injen, WeaponR, K&N, SR Motorsports, Corksport)

The basic styles are "Cold air", "short ram" and "ram air".
No proof that any of the above are greatly superior, one to the other.
The ram airs are quieter, the short rams are the noisiest, the cold airs are somewhere in between.

If the tube is the same shape and goes in the same places and has the same kind of filter on it, the results will probably all be about the same.

There is no "Magic" because of a name brand that will give you triple the horsepower over something no name that has the same basic design.

Anyone that trys to tell you that, also has some swamp land for sale...cheap.

Weapon R uses a closed cell foam filter, similar to what Jackson Racing sells, the others are all generally gauze layers between mesh. Some with open end caps on the cone, some with closed. Logic says that the more surface area you expose...the more air you can draw in.

So thats what I know...not a lot....but I guess we will all have to wait and see.
Just remember 5-7 horsepower is noticeable, but it's only a couple of tenths in a quarter mile. Great if your bud drives like you, weighs like you and has an identical car to yours.

It will not have you winning races with Corvettes tommorrow or anytime soon.

So is there any dyno results for the K&N. I belive the K&N # is a 69-6010tp. the p standing for polished.

If I buy this system http://www.knfilterchargers.com/sear...Prod=69-6010TP do I have to replace the ECU chip or any other engine component? Also I have a 2005 2.3 Litre Automatic and I beleive the 2004 are prett identical so I should be able to use this right?:)

Is there really that much difference between an ebay CAI and name brand? I have an ebay no-name CAI and it works great, and it only cost me about $70.
