Check Engine Light?!?

Hey guys, Just got my speed 3 a about 2 months ago and love it. But today my GF and myself where on a trip for about 150 miles and the check engine light randomly came on. I shut the car off for about 10 min and still when i started it back up same result. My speed 3 has about 3300 miles on it and i do use 93oct gas from cheveron or exxon only. In fact we went about 100 of those miles on the new tank of gas before it came on. It seems to be running fine, no spits or sputters. We where only going about 50mph in fact when it came on. I am getting rdy to go on a long drive to the beach with my friends next week so any advice would be appreciated.

you should get it checked out as soon as possible, but my guess is that its your purge valve/accuator in your intake manifold, a lot of people have had this problem.

The good part is you can take your car to the dealer and have them pull the code. Under emissions warranty, the dealership will fix it for free. The same thing happened on my speed3 and the dealer called it the "intake runner control solenoid". It works in conjunction with the variable valve timing and causes no drivability problems.

It could also be the fuel filler cap, that thing is sensitive. It needs to be tightened 'till you at least hear 5 clicks minimum. My engine light came on cause of this and it had me stressin till I took it in.

Thanks for all the advice. Strangly enough it seemed to have went away for the time being. I let it sit over night and next morning it was completly gone. Not an immediate problem i guess but still i think ill run it to dealer just for check.
