oh btw... i would go with the 3 sport, honestly, the only new mazda i like is the 3...

I would go with the Mazda 3 as well. It has enough power and the handling is exceptional. I didn't drive the 6, but I would imagine handling is not as good due to the larger size and weight. There are mods out for the 3 and will be plenty within the next year. The 3 is a better buy as well. It basically has everything that the 6 has except for the larger engine and climate control for a lot less money.

Hard to resist that V6 though. I like the Mazda 6s that I've seen around town.

My town of 750,000 must have no more than ten 2002 P5s (like mine) and a few more 2003s. Very rare to see them, so I really like that. I've only seen one protege with an MSP badge on it.

It is perfectly easy to resist it. The 2.3L 3 is just as fast with better millage. I also like how the 3 drives more also.

Count me in. Looked at the 6 Sport (HUGE rebates right now). Also looked at the 3 hatch. 6 was a beautiful, smooth car, but the 3 is a point and shoot, toss around blast. The 6 was more of a cruiser.

Just my opinion, but the with the rebates, the 6 was not much more expensive, I left with the 3!

:)

Bummer

Bummer about your car by the way....

I've tried the 3, and it appears to be a great car. Actually, it'll probably be the next one I buy in a couple of months. I looked at the 6 briefly, but couldn't justify the extra 9 grand for pretty much the same ( for the most part) options, and performance I'll never get to (legally) use.

Still though, I might check out the 6 sport with the 4 cyclinder if I can get a good deal. I'll keep you posted.

Great site, BTW. I think you'll be seeing a lot more of me here.

Test drove the 3 and the 6 with the 4 cyl. Left with the 3 GT Better deal for a car I'll enjoy far more.

M3 - hands down

Just got over 1700km (over 1050miles) and loved every one of them. Have the 5door GT LP package, stereo is great and real smooth and fast I4 2.3L. The governor steps in at 184Km (approx. 115m/hr) with lots of throttle left. No need to go beyond that speed anyways, unless on a track where it is safer.
Three out of four rotors are marked, dealer says that will go away as new pads a breaking in ??? I will keep checking for grooves, once grooved I will get replaced.
I like the arrangement in the hatch, where you can fold up the floor peice to creat anothe cavity, which help the grocery bags and stuff from bouncing around the hatch area. Everyone sems to like the layout, I would recomment this M3 Sport hands down.

well this IS the mazda 3 section so you guys better encourage the 3 :yelrotflm so with that of course i will recommend the 3! been a proud owner since 2004. EXCELLENT handling and gas mileage is superb. but im not too sure if itll come close to beating a bus 1 on 1, so try to avoid any more of those :cookoo: damn buses...think they own the roads :Kill1:

3 v 6

Hey guys,

Courtesy of a fantastic rattle in my 3 the car was in for service (its all of a week old mind you) and they gave me a 6 w/ the v6 engine and automatic....while the automatic left me wanting for a proper three pedal row your own gear box the V6 was a wonderful engine. It really came alive at round 4 grand and effortlessly sprinted all the way past redline to 7000rpm (same as the 4 does so I have been told). As long as you kept it above 3 grand it was never wanting for horses or torque.

But still...its a heavy car and as a result the handeling sufferes when compared w/ my 3s. And also...the turning radius SUCKS!!! My god a easy three point (K) turn turned into a rather embarassing 6 point turn, complete with horns sounding and my face turning a nice dark shade of red. The 3 would have made the same turn just by whipping a U.
