Battery and Filter Casing
 

Has anyone seen some type of replacement for the battery encasing because if you remove the whole thing then obviously there's nothing for the battery to sit on but I did remove the top covering so my groundwires would fit and now it just looks shitty. Any advise?

The battery box is HUGE, isn't it!?

The box comes apart, as you know, so you can cut a small notch in one of the panels if you don't mind a permanent change to your vehicle...

By the way, why are you running a ground wire from your battery box? If you're hooking up an amp or stereo, it's best to keep your ground wires as short as possible to reduce noise and whine.

I just ended up taking the whole damn thing out so the only casing that is left is the "air intake" casing. The ground wires are centralized to the battery. There's a main point which 6 wires are connected to. two wires to the chassis, one to the tranny, one to the block, one to the throttle body, and I can't remember where the last one is going to I'd have to go look at it. Anyways..they're not for a system or anything..at least not yet..just gives it better engine efficiently and a smoother acceleration. Kinda the same results as if you changed the plugs and wires.

I started looking at that thing cause I never had a car with so much plastic stuff around the battery and on top of the engine and such...

Why is there that air tube going into the battery box?

And I couldn't quite make out - how is the air routed to the intake side of the air filter?

the air tube to the battery is to cool it. its like if you have an R/C car when your done playing with it the battery is hot.

Wyo, yeah, I suppose they have to vent it, once they put it in a box ... which still leaves us with the question of why a box?

X5, are you saying that you added extra ground wires and that improves performance?
I'm skeptical!

Go ahead and be skeptical all you want...but I noticed a slight difference in the speed and smoothness of acceleration as well as the stability and smoothness of idling. I'm not saying this is a miracle cure for anything or that its gonna give you 10 or more HP. That would be bullshit. I'm just saying that the ground wires gave me virtually the same results as if I were to change the spark plugs for better ones.
