ait sensor

i searched the forum and im confused i have a 05 mazada 3 2.3 and the CEL is reading code P0113 AIT is reading to high and auto zone dose not have a part listed from what i have read on the forum its part of the MAFS is this correct?

I assume that it is the Air Intake Thermosensor, and would be part of the intake system. I would contact Ray Crowe at Malloy mazda for the part.

He will be cheaper than your local Mazda dealer.

ok, but is that sensor built into the mass air flow sensor?

hanman March-12th-2009 08:35 AM

Not positive that this is the same engine, but, yes it looks like it's part of the MAF. Here is a link:

would this cause the battery light to blink? the engine light came on and the battery light blinked a few times quickly then it stopped. no one has a listing for jsut the sensor so i have to buy a new mass air flow sensor correct?

racerd14666 March-21st-2009 09:10 PM

i had the same problem with my car and it turns out some of the wires going to the mass air flow sensor was broke inside. its happened twice so far on my car.

racerd14666 March-22nd-2009 01:39 PM

were is the sensor, is it closer to the throttle bodies or closer to th air filter

onebadmazda3 March-22nd-2009 09:32 PM

its inbetween the two

racerd14666 March-22nd-2009 10:04 PM

from the wire being broke inside, it causes a short. that makes the baters light flicker on.

racerd14666 March-23rd-2009 03:05 PM

so how are the wires routed to the mafs do they go in the cabin or stay under the hood?

racerd14666 March-26th-2009 11:18 PM

well its not the ait sensor i bought a new mass air flow sensor tested the new aginst the old one even hooked up the new one and the code p0113 still pops up now the battery light stays on when your taking off and th car feels like it wans to die

onebadmazda3 March-27th-2009 08:26 AM

its not gonna be the sensor, its some broke wires inside the wire harnes that goes to the mass air flow sensor. mazda used really small wires in the harnes. my lower motor mount was bad and caused the engine to "rock" back so far that it keep breaking the wires inside that harness.

racerd14666 March-27th-2009 11:17 PM

is there any connectors from the mafs to the computer or is it just strait shot of wire?
