Air and Cabin Filters

I asked the dealer what was done in the 15k checkup, he informed me that to replace the Air Filter was $25 and a cabin filter was $29. I know that the air filter is a simple replacement, but is the cabin filter easy to get to? I think that ~$60 for 2 filters is insane and I'd rather do it myself.
Thanks for the info in advance.

First of all, there is no way I'm going to pay $170 for a 15k mile service when they don't really do anything special. The way I see it, I take my car in for a FREE multi-point inspection, and if something is wrong, it should be covered under warranty. However, the problem with doing things yourself is that it is still expensive, at least in the Bay Area, Ca. I can't find any parts such as air or oil filters at auto parts stores. The dealer charges me $13 for an oil filter and $30 for an air filter. I replaced the air filter at about 15k mi but it wasn't very dirty. I looked in my manual and it says to change it at much higher mileage - like 37k. It's not the easiest air filter to replace, but you only need to disconnect one wire and the connection to the engine block to be able to lift the top piece high enough to get the filter out.

As for the cabin air filter, I didn't know the car had one, but I wouldn't bother replacing it for a while, unless you notice decrease flow through your air vents. Then again, I drive with my moonroof open whenever it isn't raining, so having a cabin filter doesn't really do anything.
