Adding Trans Fluid

OK - I know this is a really stupid question but I need to add Transmission fluid and cannot locate a tank to add it. I assume I just add it in the place where the dipstick is, by using a funnel. I have an M3. I saw a tank near the dipstick, but I am pretty sure it's the brake fluid, even thought it doesn't say. I just thought it to be weird that there is no tank to add Trans. Fluid.

uummm....
There is no separate tank for trans oil. Just like the engine doesn't have one. You add the oil inside the trans and/or the engine. If your car is auto then you add it using the dipstick's hole. If manual, you have to add it by removing the (upper?) bolt on the bottom of the trans. Please, correct me if I'm wrong. Why do you think you need to add oil to the trans anyway??? What's the mileage on your car? Maybe it's time to replace the oil not just add to it.

echo what ivo said -
yeah you should never have to add transmission fluid - if you do then you have a leak and you should get that fixed. you can also do damage if you add too much.

I guess I should have been more clear.
I never said I was adding oil to the transmission, I am adding transmission fluid to my transmission. This is only a top-off - not a fill up, there is no leak. I have 94,000 miles and by this time I have burned some of the fluid to the point that when the engine is semi-cold and I am in drive, it hesitates a little or jumps a little from 1st into 2nd gear. Once the engine is warmed up, then it shifts normal. So I just need to top-off my transmission fluid, that is it. I am going to add maybe an 1/8 of a quart, see how it shifts, then add another 1/8th if it needs it. I know it can be damaging to add too much, that is why I am only adding a little a time. My only question was that I thought I might see a tank to pour the fluid into, such as your brake fluid tank, but I am only seeing that I pour it into the nozzle that holds the dipstick.

2021 Mazda3 2.5 liter 4dr Sedan/auto transmission oil

I recently hit an object on the road which caused most of my transmission oil to spill out .The transmission pan was dented and the leak was in the rear portion of the oil pan after removing the oil pan I noticed that the oil pan gasket was missing and that only glue has been applied to seal the oil pan ,I also discovered damage to the oil filter .I removed the filter and ordered the replacement parts on line .I purchased the correct transmission oil and the amount according to the owners manual however I couldn't find where to add the oil and where to check the level of the oil once I've added the oil can some one help me with this please?
