I thought these MS3's were suposed to be fast??? Basically even with a bolt on RSX Type S? Not my car...just wondering what you guys think about this...I thought the MS3 woulda been faster especially w/ a 3" catback exhaust.

Too me the Mazdaspeed3 feels marginally quicker than my current MZ3s non turbo. Actually I raced a friends mazdaspeed with a 2004 maxima SE and walked him which makes no sense since the speed puts out more power and is lighter?

Must have to do with the detuned 1 & 2 gears on the MZS3

Traction or I should say lack of traction is the MS3 problem. Had the car been awd it would smoke alot more cars trust me.

Maxima's are actually pretty quick. I'm not sure about your butt dyno assestment, but the MS3 runs low 14s stock while the Mazda 3s non turbo is a mid 15 second car at best....a second and a half is quite a big difference.

The detuned part would make sense, except for the fact that the runs against that RSX started at 40 mph which is 2nd gear, there was no first gear used...2nd, 3rd and 4th were.

Well it looks like the same MS3 and RSX-S ran again...the MS3 added a CAI, while the RSX added an 06 Civic Si Intake Manifold and KPRO tune. Here were the results...

if and when the ms3 puts a downpipe and race pipe on its a whole diffrent ballgame. i have raced 4/5 rsx's with the same modds and they dont stand a chance.

i have fmic, k&n cold air intake w/ cobb tuning turbo inlet hose, turbo XS downpipe w/ catless 3" exaust, dog bone motor mounts, street unit dual port blow off, cobb acess port tuner. its dyno'd at 375 at the wheels.
