4 Cylinder question

I know this may sound dumb to people who have been around cars and engines but when a car has either a 4 cylinder engine or 6 cylinder engine does that mean that they either have a 4 cycle or 6 cycle engine? :wtf:

It means exactly what it says. A four cylinder engine has four cylinders, and a six has six. Each cylinder holds a piston that by a series of explosions runs the motor. For more info go here http://auto.howstuffworks.com/engine.htm

By cycle I'm assuming you mean stroke?

All new car engines (with the exception of rotaries and maybe deisels) are 4 stroke.
