2011 Mazda3 common problems?

Hi!

I'm looking to get a 2011 Mazda 3 i touring (automatic) next weekend.

Right now I am between a 2011 Mazda3 i touring and a 2011 Honda Civic LX.

Are there any common problems or issues that I should be aware of if I get a Mazda3. Are there any common fail parts or any common engine, tranny, etc problems? Any common annoyances?

Thanks!

No issues, Ive done all the maintenance myself. I have a '10 i Sport, I do about 70miles a day, just rolled over 22k. i have a 5EAT (automatic) do all hwy heavy traffic driving. Change my oil every 3500-4000miles. Started with Conventional on the first change (1100mi), switched to SynBlend 5w20 (3000mi) and went Syn blend til now (21k) full synthetic 5w20 Mobil1. On Second Air box filter and always used FRAM ToughGuard 6x Oil filters.

On day 2 a rear speaker blew, and mazda replaced it under warranty...other then that, im due for brakes, average 29-30mpg combined. Adult driver, not hard at all on my vehicles, well worth the 17k (or less).

Compared to the Civic, (i was looking at this and a focus as well last year) the mazda had a better crash test, less expensive, more comfortable and with a infant (now toddler) i went with the better /safer car. Just wasnt into paying more for the name "Honda" The 3 has kept mazda above the curve for a long time now and its sportyness/fuel economy/reliability and appearance has made this vehicle very attractive to all realms of drivers.

Dont think youll go wrong with a 3. I can hook you up with some guys at Gaithersburg Rosenthal mazda or some down here in Northern VA.

www.MSCW.com is a good local mazda group, and the local mazda dealers love us and give us great deals.

But back on the common problems....None. Older 3's with the 4EAT trans had some issues when they were constantly driven rough, but usually you could get that replaced under warranty or keep a spare on hand and swap it out yourself. (what i would do).

:zzzzz: Now that i put you asleep, go buy it!

Purchased an iTouring '11 in March. It's the first flawless car i bought in a long time (2005 Odyssey, 2004 Nissan Titan, 2010 Tacoma). No rattle/squeaks even in cold weather. But that isn't the reason I am completely satisfied with the car, it's the way it drives, so much fun even in stock form. The car has quite loud road noise but I read it's the same with Civic (actually, most Hondas are noisy). I've upgraded rsb, 17" tires/wheels, Pro-kit and the ride is still comfortable. The Hankook tires reduce the road noise quite a bit. This car makes me looking forward to drive it. Lastly, you can't beat the price, $16.2 k before tax/license.
