2009 vs. 2010 Speed 3

I am considering buying a 2009 speed 3, or alternatively might wait for a 2010. What are peoples thoughts on this?

Also, what deals have people been getting on the 2009 model as dealers try to clear out the remaining inventory?

Me too....

I'm in just about the same position.

The 2010 has features not available in the 2009, but I'm still in two minds about the styling.

I was hoping for good deals on the remaining 09 stock. In April they were offering $2500 cash-back, and I figured that would go up as they try to run stock down, but in May $0.....I wait to see what Jun and July bring!!

I think the $2500 rebate was for the 2008, not the 2009. And the last of the 2008s probably got snapped up as a result.

On 2009 vs. 2010, I'd say it's a matter of which styling you prefer. Performance probably won't be much different.

Update: Late May

The rebate was definately on th '09. I keep an eye on it, because it's either an '09, or a 10 I'm going to buy.

A few days after I wrote my previous they popped up with $1000 on the '09's for May. I'm eagerly awaiting to see what the come up with in Jun., but I must say the supply locally is dwindling (though the dealer where I got my MX-5 assures me that if I do want the '09 Grand Touring, he'll get one for me. Then I just have to leave it on the showroom floor for a couple of weeks to pick up the incentives).

I can see advantages in both stylings (I like the hood sccop for the intercooler on the 2010, but I don't like the body style's back end), the 2010 does have a few features I like, but nothing that would swing the decision for sure. It'll also be interesting to see the color choices for the 2010.

For me it will come down to the deal. If the 2010's come in at comparable pricing, I see no advantage in taking the old stock off their hands, but if there is sufficient incentive (like the 5K they are currently offering on '08 MX-5's), then I'll be very happy with an '09.

If they offer a significant change in incentivees for the '09 for Jun, I'll post it here.
