2009 Mazda 3 HID kit upgrade

I recently just upgraded the old halogens in the 3 with a kit from The Retrofit Source. I used the 35W Morimoto kit 5K. All in all it took about 30 mins to install. It is awesome, I would highly recommend this kit for the 3. The quality of the bulbs is great, I also have a Acura TL and this kit puts the Acura to shame! Ive order from these guys before and it is always fast shipping and great products. Total price was $150.00 but for ease and quality of product I wouldn't trade it. I will posts some pics as soon as I can stop driving this now!

If you feel the need to make the lights even more beautiful swap the clear lens from TRS for the stock frosted lens. It makes a world of difference, though involves disassembling the headlights so not really for the faint of heart.

So I'm completely new to working on cars altogether. I am interested in switching out my lights to HID headlights. With basically no experience in this sort of thing, would it be possible to do the switch myself with the kit that you recommended? Or would it be better to take it to someone?

Thanks

It's easy enough. Remove the halogen lamps from the headlights, install the HID lamps. Connect the ballasts to the HID lamps and connect the ballasts to the stock wiring (unless you're installing a relay harness in which case you then hook up the relay.

It's easy enough.

When switching from the Halogen Bulbs to HID Bulbs...you have to Re-Aim the "cut-off" after installing the HIDs.

Yea Morimoto Bulbs are the best!

If your lamps were properly aimed before installing the HIDs then you don't need to reaim them afterwards.
