2007 M3 - Door Open Warning Light & Other Light Related Issues

Hello all,

Hoping someone may have gone through this and can offer some guidance.

Last night while we were getting into the car, the overhead dome light came on as did the door open warning light.
I checked all doors and they were all properly closed.

While driving home I realized my headlights were not functioning properly as in not bright enough.
I realized that the Daytime Running Lights setting had switched to the Full Headlight On setting and vice versa.

Got home and turned off the engine and the overhead dome light stayed on as did the door open warning light.
In addition, the dashboard (blue like) lights directly in front of the driver position remained on and the locking function on the key remote did not work.

I disconnected the battery to turn the lights off, and today reconnected and same result.

I believe I heard some strange noises from the front of the car while driving home last night but can't be certain as there were several passengers talking etc.

Does any of this ring a bell or make sense to anyone?

Any advice on what or how to troubleshoot would be much appreciated.

Thanks

D
