CORRECTION 2008.12.03 (MP3s WON'T PLAY) / '07 Speed3 GT -- STEREO PLAYS MP3 CDs!!

Turns out my CD burner software (Roxio) automatically converted the MP3s to CDA (CD Audio) format -- that's why it worked.

I wrote the same tracks to a new disc as a data CD, and they stayed MP3. My Panasonic Blu-ray player showed them as MP3s on the GUI, and could play them, but the MS3 stereo DID NOT (plays, but no sound?!?).

Sorry about the confusion. Oh well, at least there are millions of MP3 conversion tools out there.

I purchased an '07 Speed3 GT back in July of 2007. Of course I LOVE the car, including the 6-CD changer with the cranking amp and speakers.

Shortly after I bought it, I saw an owner review on MSN autos, where the guy listed one of the car's cons as:

"Stereo doesn't play MP3 CDs"

Well, FYI everyone, I just burned an MP3 CD and it played perfectly on my Speed3!!! Maybe the Sport model's stereo is different, but the GT stereo works perfectly. It IS true that with the '08 model they started to put the little "MP3" tag on the stereo, which is not on the '07, but I guess that was just to avoid confusion.

Apologies if this is old news.
