which wires to plug into lowbeams

i have a modded 2007 mazda 3i. i'm currently building my exterior, for my engine and drivetrain are pretty well maxed out. i was wondering if anyone could help me figure out which wires i could plug some foglights into to make them come on with the lowbeams only. i'm pretty mechanically inclined... but not so much electrically... also, i can't seem to find lowering springs lower than 1.8" and i'm quite hellbent on 2'' or lower... i want some tuckage! any suggestions there? beside those heavy airbags systems! (speed and weight don't mix) THANKS

default operation for the fog lights is to be on with the low beams only... and you don't you have fogs on the car at all from the factory since it's an 'i' trim? Hopefully the wire harness pieces are still there, but if all else fails, add a relay and connect to the low beams.

see here for some wiring diagrams - https://www.mazda3club.com/showthrea...t=44332&page=2
let me know if that works for you, or if you have further questions.

Good luck.

no i don't have fog lights from the factory. my lowbeams are terrible however. it's almost like driving with no lights. i don't want a headlight upgrade because i beg to differ with the price and i'm going for the sleeper look to keep police from stalking me. so fog lights and mazdaspeed 3 wheels and tires are as far as the exterior will go. possibly maybe... the mazda 3 S body kit if i do decide on that or not. but all in all i don't like body kits much anyway. but thanks for the diagram help i'll give it a look and see whats going on and get back with the verdict in a few days... thanks for the reply

the low beams shouldn't be that bad, do make sure they are adjusted properly. I've got the HID's, but was initially disappointed until I adjusted the lights. They were pointed straight right to left, but one was way lower than the other - meaning a lot less light farther out. So try to adjust, find a wall and make the lowbeams just about level & see how that works out. if people start flashing you for bright lights, then aim them down just a bit until they don't flash you.

my headlight were pointed down so far you could only see a foot in front of the car i did adjust them and it helped a little. my lens aren;t fogged and the car has never been wrecked or anything but they won't adjust anyfurther up. my highbeams light the world but my lowbeams just blow... maybe it's just the bulb? oh well doesn't matter much to me after i install the fogs. it's just a pain right now when i do come up on a dark road.

You may want to try adjusting the whole housing - as the headlights will be a far better beam pattern - and more light than fogs will give you. I think the high beams are fixed, but I haven't looked too closely at that to see if you can move the headlight housing without changing the high beams so they point too high.
Good luck, and do let me know if you have any problems getting into the electrical harness to get power for the fogs.
