Subie Guy

Hey y'all, my buddy just bought a 2005 Mazda 3 with the 2.0L engine and he asked me to look into what if anything he can do to his car to get a bit more umph out of it so he can play with me.

I just want to make it clear that I have respect for the Mazda brand and when I bought my WRX I looked seriously at the MS3. I think his first mistake was getting the 2.0 to begin with but it fell into his lap.

Other than intake upgrade and exhaust I haven't found much else he can do without spending stupid amounts of $$ on parts.

Thanks in advance guys, I just can't find anything for this car and engine combo that would make much more of a difference.

I just realized I put this post in the wrong spot, can the mods please delete or move. Thanks.

underdrive pulleys aren't a bad idea, other than that the biggest difference in HP would be FI. The most effective mods for the 3 are suspension mods.

So that's it huh? Cheap mods are Intake, Exhaust, pulley's and tires?
Are there any good open source engine management or even plug and play type engine management? Anyone have a decent turbo upgrade without an engine to match (2.0 turbo kit)?
