Hi All, I've scanned over the thread and read some issue on the Mazda s shaking but none seem specific to my issue. So apologies in advance if there are any I have missed and pls redirect me if appropriate.

My issue is ever since taking the car in for a service it now shakes / vibrates considerably at between 85 - 95 km/hr.

Now I am aware the Madzas are prone to shaking "a bit" but it is now to a point where I had to pull over a check the wheels!

I took it back to the place in question and they re balanced everything but to no avail.
They put it on a hoist and ran the car there to check but unable to notice anything.

Before I go into my rant ...the car is sitting at 298,00 kms (i drive between Wollongong -> Sydney 5 days a wk) Yes it's a high number but I've had since new a been serviced regularly.

• The shockies have been done - all round (approx 18 months ago)
• Both CV joint have been replaced - 1 at 18mth ago and the other with the last service.
• It has new tyres.
• The gearbox oil and engine was replaced at the last service
• The last CV was thought to be the issue so the garage remove and replace with another brand as a courtesy.

The replacement list is longer but dont think its relevant e.g. spark plugs, etc.

Now at 85 - 95 km/hr it vibrate / shakes to a point I actually drive faster or slower to avoid it.

It vibrates when in gear and out of gear. (yes, its auto)

Im at a loss to understand what would be causing this ...

Tyres? these have been checked
Shocks? Garage said they seem fine and as mentioned have been replace not that long ago.
Tail Shaft? it doesn't shake through acceleration so it doesn't seem to be this.
Engine and gearbox? it shakes when out of gear and only between the speeds mentioned.

AAArgh! - someone help please - the garage has wiped their hands of it and I don't have anything to point at except it wasn't doing this prior. They have stated it seem a regular issue with Mazdas around this age/year.

Does it vibrate with the speed of the wheel or speed of the engine? If it vibrates with the speed of the wheel jack up each wheel and ensure all the lug nuts are torqued to spec, next grab the top and bottom of the wheel/tire and try to wiggle the wheel- repeat the process while holding the right and left side of the wheel. Should you encounter any play while doing this you most likely need to repack your wheel bearing/replace the wheel bearing. Repeat with all 4 wheels and replace parts as needed. Next check the tie rod ends for play or worn out bushings and replace as needed. My mazda 3 vibrated horribly at 55+ and we couldnt figure it out... turns out the lug nuts backed themselves out after a local shop had replaced my tires. They ensured me the lugs were torqued down correctly and I believe them because it happened again after I had changed the brakes and I know I torqued them down correctly. Other than that, check for any build up of rubber/grease/snow/dirt inside the hub that would throw it off balance.
