I need a set of winter tires/wheels and would like to know if I need the tps.
does it effect any thing on the car or will I just have a light on on the dash?

you will just have a light on in the dash.
but dont worry, you can always cover that up with some black tape ;)

No worries, just keep a eye on your tire pressures. You will just have that annoying light on all the time...wish mine didnt have tpms....
