Clunking on my 2006 Mazda 3 with 85K miles...
Ok… I have been reading a lot about other 3’s with front end “clunking”… I have read a few different fixes… swaybar link, bad strut, motor mounts, inner tie rods, end link.
My symptoms are – when of drive over bumps it clunks… (it definitely is the right side… and sounds like the front) Also, when I drive 65 on the freeway it seems to rattle also… even on new asphalt freeway… i.e. real smooth. So, does anyone have a suggestion where to start? ~DD |
your tires might have uneven wear, and you upper stut tower bushings are probley bad. i had the same thing bad on my car. same problem

Ducatiduke, maybe you read my post "M3 clunking over bumps and ruts" . Mine is a 2009 with 12000 miles on it(bought used), so i cant believe there is anything mechanically worn or needing replacing. I am sorry I bought this car; I plan to get rid of it soon. Suspension upgrades are not an option for me.

I figured it out... It was the front right motor mount... it was not too bad of a fix... it runs like a dream now... thanks for everyone's help...
