Clunk in front susspension
I'm not asking for a bunch of help on this issue; just if someone had the same thing happen to them.
I have a 2010 MS3 that makes a single clunk as I back out of the driveway (reverse, high-but-not-the-highest-possible angle turn, very low speed/torque) I know that some types of CV joints don't like much power at extreme angles, but this only occurs with the combination of reverse/driveway/low speed/low throttle (with a ramp at the end). Not when turnng at extreme angles in fwd or with more throttle. The car has low miles (2100), I never drive it in the rain or in winter. Anybody out there with a similar problem or symptom? Thanks in advance! |
i've heard springs clunk / shift when turning, that could be it. if you can repeat it, go back & ask the dealer - its still under warranty. I assume you mean 21,000 miles?

do you have aftermarket suspension or are you stock? i have experienced and have heard other people talk about a clunk at low speeds in reverse. It can be the springs settling and making a clunk as the reseat. if that is what is causing the problem it wont hurt anything. i have heard people comment on it from both stock and aftermarket suspension systems.
