big brakes kit
 

anyone upgraded their breaks to something bigger? im looking to get some bigger brakes but havent done much research. i have the MS3 so the stock wheels are 18's. whats the deal? anyone done this yet?

www.therpmstore.com has a brembo set that works for the 3 and ms3, but they're out of stock. i think they've only sold one so far, so not too many ms3's with bbk's yet. but the brembo kit works for both 3 and ms3, so i don't see why you can't use rotora's bbk or the wilwood bbk set as well.

The stock brakes on a MS3 are really, really good. For ANY street driving, they're more than adequate. They're plenty for autocrossing too. The only real need would arise if you were doing some serious track duty, and even then most issues could be addressed with different compound brake pads and higher temp fluid.

agreed. i think the only real reason for bbk's are for show purposes. or unless you've tons of money

ya. i agree with the pads and fluid, and i found out last weekend that the stock breaks are pretty amazing at a track day, but im one of those stop on a dime, used to motorcycle style breaking, and i outdrove my tires; and ran into quite a bit of brake fading so im the cautious type. plus, any money spent on stopping power is worth its weight well before the general populations "i-need-more-power" mentality.

Are the MS3 brakes different than the stock 3 and can they be fitted to a stock 3? I have one track day planned, would like to upgrade the brakes w/o spending a whole lotta$$$

ya the brakes are different. i dont know the spec diff. or the price tho.

if you want an upgrade, just get better brake pads and steel brake lines

i have been so busy that i havent hada chance to really research. im thinkin brembo when they come out with the rears.. all they have right now is front.

All of the big brake kits I found for the 3 required wheels with silly stupid space between the spokes and the hub. Neither my Enkei RPF1 18" wheels nor my 17" 5Zigen FN01R-Cs will work with any, except using the Mazdaspeed3 ones. None of them are worth it for most people, unless your going to be doing heavy racing. If I take my car to the track (I'm having a hard time getting over the fear of destroying my one and only daily driver), I plan to get more race appropriate pads and fluid, and probably stainless steel lines. The 3 already comes with fantastic brakes.

I intend to do the Brembo setup with Pagid Black pads for street and Blue for track. My question is, does someone offer an adapter or kit that would allow me to move the stock front brakes to the back as that is how I did it with my Audi.
