ABS & Traction Lights On, Turn off in Cold
 

I could really use some help figuring this one out. A while ago, my ABS and Traction lights came on, the car seemed fine, so I ignored it. I now finally have the time to fix it but I am stuck. I have checked the fuses, MAF sensor, and the individual tire ABS sensors. Everything checks out okay. I gave up and took it to the mechanic... He used the ABS diagnostic tool and there were several codes including a failure of both back ABS sensors (I tested the resistance and they are okay), both back breaks (brand new brake pads show wear), and the rear brake pump (breaks are definitely working).

Here's the last piece of information... The lights go off when it is really cold, close to freezing.

I really don't want to take it to the dealership because there is one in town and I don't trust them to really solve the problem, I think they will just have me fix all the individual parts for $$$$$.
