Uneven headlights
I just bought a 2007 Mazda 3 i. The head light illumination on the road is uneven. The driver's side needs to be raised up. I do not have the headlight leveling option, and can't find anything in the owners manual about how to adjust them. I looked briefly under the hood, but nothing jumped out at me. Is there anyway that I can manually raise the angle of the lamp?

There's a white plastic screw that's in the headlight housing - the drivers side has a little door covering the screw. Turn the screw and your lights will move.
There is a pattern with the right side being above the left in a step, which allows oncoming traffic to not be blinded. So before adjusting, make sure to note the headlight patten on a wall (preferrably brick or something with reference lines) and cover one headlamp at a time to see what you're starting with. |
Thanks for the info. I knew about the not blinding the oncoming traffic stuff, but my lights seem to shine so low, I'd be lucky to blind a racoon on the side of the road. I think both sides need to raised.
