Replacing Trunk Light - Mazda 3 2008

Hi

I am trying to change my trunk light bulk, and have taken off the plastic cover and the burnt out light, but in the process I must have pushed a little bit to hard and now the socket is in the hole and I can't get it out. So I can't put a new light in.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get it out? I already tried needle point pliers but still can't get the socket out.
