motor mounts

okay so i was told o4 had problems with there motor mounts. anyone else have or had a issue with motor mounts, tire cupping, tire feathering, wheel vibrations? i've rotated, balanced, gone thru 3 sets of tires, all ending up in the same condition. not to mention frame alienment front end alienment shock inspection. GEES any thing im missing? thinking 4th set gonna be some cheap shit, why spend hundreds of $$ if they all end up cupped at 10k.? :pat:

there's a recall on the motor mounts for leaking, though I thought it was for later than a 2004.
Tire cupping vibration etc... are your ball joints, tie rods and all doing well? My dad had an issue with tires setting up a frame vibration, turns out they needed to be balanced on a road force balancer. I had issues with this as well, one shop just couldn't balance tires correctly. Find a dealer (or different dealer) not a general repair shop, and ask if they have a road force balancer. It costs a bit more to have it done on one of these machines, but it's right.
Also you can have them check the tire runout to see if you have a bent rim.
And i've heard that cheaper tires aren't made as well, and can cup due to a lack of rigidity in the tire tread itself.

Good luck.

why thank you djs2571!! yes second set where out of round. michelin replaced them with the Engery4mx tire. they were great to 10k then it started all over again. its exhusting after 4years ( mines a '05) and having everything checked, except a road force balancer which will be done as soon as i find a dealer who offers this service, and i've new tread, cause now right front has a plug in it due to a huge nail that was wedged in deep, good grief. oh and front end parts were inspected several times by different places, all in good shape, so i'm told. but thank you for the tip!!
