Mazdaspeed 3 at high speeds

Hey everyone,
It is my first time using a forum, so I am pretty excited. :)
I have one question, the other day I took my 2009 MS3 out for a spin and really pushed it, I am not sure if I gave it enough time to warm up but the car seemed to jump or jerk on 6 th gear. I was not redlining but my RPM was near 5000. It hasn't happened since then but I havent pused it as hard, should I be worried? Could it be the fuel I used? Or could it be something more serious?
Thanks for any pointers

I know during warmup, my engine will stumble around 1500-2500 under load (4th gear up hill). It's happened from day one, when it's partly warm, I think it's shigting the fuel map during warmup causing the issue... or when the O2 sensor starts to heat up, something like that.

I've noticed occasionally that under high load (flooring it) you can get pulses of power as the engine control catches up to the conditions. And i've got it recorded on a PC program that monitors 0-60 and power output via the OBD-II port (auterra).

So i'd bet it's an engine control thing, you can always try it again and see if it stumbles.

Good luck.

Thanks a lot for the excellent information, I really appreciate it. I guess, my best bet is to slow down too. :)

Thanks again

Do the MazdaSpeeds have a speed limiter that starts cutting ignition at some speed? I know the regular ones do it at something like 115 mph.

this guy got to 125 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnVzKGoDiEA
Here's the spec on the 2011 model = 155mph http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/disp...ehicleCode=MS3

If it's a concern for you, you can always test it out :)
Hey, you're right in canandaigua, that's just a few miles from me.
