Key fob problem

Hi

I'm new to the forum and not even sure if this is the right place to post.

I have a 2004 Mazda 3 ts2 and I'm having problems with my remote central locking key fob. It hasn't worked since I bought the car 6 months ago, I knew this at the time but bought the car anyway because it was the model I wanted and was a bargain price.

I have two key fobs and neither work, I replaced the batteries in both and have tried re-programming the fobs using a lot of different processes I found online and they don't work at all, the ECU doesn't even respond.

The only way I can lock my car completly is by getting into the car, putting the key in the ignition and locking all doors using the door lock, then take the key out of the ignition, open the driver door, get out and then lock it.

I cannot lock all doors by holding the key turned in the lock for a second or two as it says in the manual.

Any advice would be greatly appeciated before I have to bring it to the dealership and no doubt pay a fortune.

Many Thanks
Stephen

My car won't lock the doors with the key in the ignition... if yours does that means there's a control module or something else not working properly.

The owners manual simply says to bring the car to a dealer to reprogram the remotes - think that may be your only hope. I thought i'd seen a procedure in the manual but I can't find it - maybe search the forum here too.
