Fuel and Air Metering control

I just got a 96 Protege, standard 1.5. My problem is after the car is driven for about 45 minutes acceleration is very hesitant and sluggish, like pushing an old lady up a hill. Had fault codes read: 134- Fuel/Air metering control.Any ideas, all help is greatly appreciated.
