Cabin filter

My wife just paid over $100 to have the cabin filter replaced on her car. It's that a bit expensive?

d-machine May-14th-2009 07:34 PM

uh.... yeah... the filter is 18 dollars at NAPA and you can do it on your own, its not easy to get to or to do, but you can... thats a crazy charge for the cabin filter!

Thanks - I can't get down there to do it because of my health. There was a time though. I hate getting older.

oh, sorry about that.... you should try and see if there is anyone in your area on the forums... im sure someone would be willing to help you out next time you need something, instead of spending too much money

Where exactly is the cabin air filter located on a 2006 Mazda 3?
Thanks
Marty

its on the passanger side of the heater box under the glove box. behind some trim! i am a tech and i dont really enjoy replacing those filters. they do work good though. they keep alot of crap out.

What is the harm in just removing the original filters and not replacing them? Seems like the blower would run cooler

Cabin Air Filter

I gladly paid my local mechanic 80 bucks to change that sucker on my '08. What a pain. There is a hilarious video on U tube of a guy doing this job. He starts out all cool and collected and as the daylight wanes he begins to loose it. I even bought the filter and was going to do the change but the video changed my mind really quick.
